Hi! I'm Hoshi Hana, the artist and creator behind Art Love Friend.
My creative world has been shaped by many influences—my Japanese cultural roots, growing up in multicultural Los Angeles, studying photography at the San Francisco Art Institute, and a lifelong fascination with art, people, peace, and protecting the world around us.
I've always been drawn to art that carries meaning. I love vibrant colors, unexpected combinations, playful details, and the magic that happens when different ideas come together to create something entirely new.
Even the name Hoshi Hana is part of that philosophy.
In Japanese, hoshi means star and hana means flower. I created Hoshi Hana as an artistic identity inspired by a shining star and a blooming flower— symbols of creativity, possibility, and growth.
TThe name is also a heartfelt tribute to my family, especially my grandmothers and parents, and to the Japanese community that helped shape who I am. Their love, guidance, and example instilled in me a deep appreciation for honesty, perseverance, resourcefulness, and the importance of family and community. These values inspire how I live, how I see the world, and the art I create.
Through my artwork, I hope to share things that feel imaginative, meaningful, and a little magical—things that invite people to smile, wonder, connect, or see something familiar in a new way.
Art Love Friend is where I get to share that creative spirit with you.
Thank you for being part of our colorful little universe.
